Natsuko Hirata

Hotel Romantica

Dim radiance from window chink
stole into
the wooden room.
Taciturn mountains—
overcast moonlight.

Bloody rosy petals
flutter down on
squeaky bed.

Hot water poured into
strong willed tub.
Draft.

Bare foot sound on
cool floor.
Waiting,
with chirping insects,
for door bell.

Natsuko Hirata is a resident of Tokyo, Her poetry has appeared in the Marsh Hawk Review, Otoliths , BlazeVOX, Tokyo Poetry Journal, and other places.
