first light

we see the word as vessel
the form as sin as organized territory
we try not to touch the flesh
revere the sound of machinations
austere the heartbeat of man
first light dwindles
first wind cradled and left to simmer
in the void
strange our thoughts
our actions contradict
sometimes we reject
the long call from a dying life

first light
the last we’d ever really see.

ataraxia

mostly in limbo
this flesh tested
and probed

a quiet place to think
to reserve thoughts for later
glass walls for comfort
nothing scares me here
not even the random bursts
of light or the electric pulses
jolts of electricity to
grey matter

i am one sometimes
sometimes i am many

they say i am god
they call out to me pray to me
glorify me like mad lunatics
fanatics sometimes
i am humble enough
to deny this
it feels good though

i am just one dimension
a brain in a vat
there are others like me
dreaming.
