doors in the back
but no apparent connection
between these rooms
each papered distinctively
small details, a bath,
a coal scuttle, figures
intent on generic activity
oblivious to each other
their collapsed walls
rendering them public

*

the clockwork train
runs in a circle
between nowhere and nowhere else

*

a bear, a mouse and a bent dog
buried in a trunk
