J. D. Nelson

a blared gestalt

I gargle
w pennies

been
done
               wrong

not now
(a face)

this is my nook, Ruth!

my fingers smell like metal

a pocket of wolf—
that old saying

speaking backwards
meelnorp slava wooob

every word is dirt
every word                      dirty

intercorrugated
and rectangularish

this is a bounce from space

myriad fangs useless
weapon two

of me in the center
a new impossibility

it’s the warton
of the colonel

in half

ever earthward

silver becomes the channel of the snake

                              sssssssssssss
                              sssssssssssss
                              sssssssssssss

menthol one pesky
moon with fork
spaghetti knievel

watching myself on a screen

orion not
to-night

note to self:
               rock in potato fur

to memorize the sea
