Snow balls
out in the snow
a small girl making
a snow man looks
like my sister
*
tobogganing now
we move fast downhill
snow powder –
reside of speed
*
snow balls are
being thrown – at me,
at her, my sister,
winter smiles
Donner Pass, Lake Tahoe

Sky and Road
Sky blue
               on Tinakori Road
Wind cool
               rustle of leaves
Leaves rustle of
                              cool wind
Blue on Tinakori Road
                                             Sky
Always Leave an Out
1
a roadway
ahead
closed,
think alternatively.
•
alternatively,
think
ahead:
a closed roadway…
2
bridge open,
troubled waters
now
run deep
•
deep troubled water:
run
now
open bridge…
Wind and Rain
Rain
               to
                              day
Rain
               and
                              Wind
All
               day
                              Rain
Wind
               to
                              day
Wind
               and
                              Rain
Icicle
in
winter
I
am
in
a
cave
               stalagmite
               or stalactite
               up
               or
               down
               dangling
               frozen
                              the months
                              will
                              pass
                              (slowly)
                              then
                              I’ll
                              thaw
                              out.
