Felino A. Soriano is a poet documenting coöccurrences. His poetic language stems from exterior motivation of jazz and the belief in language’s unconstrained devotion to broaden understanding. His work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net anthologies. Recent poetry collections include sparse anatomies of single antecedents (gradient books, 2015), Forms, migrating (Fowlpox Press, 2015), Of isolated limning (Fowlpox Press, 2014, and Mathematics (Nostrovia! Poetry, 2014). He edits the online journal, Of/with: journal of immanent renditions. He lives in California with his wife and family and is a director of supported living and independent living programs providing supports to adults with developmental disabilities. When stagnant the breaths form paused nutrition. Air circling each indentation increases thickened mobility. Cylinders within marrow encase culture of the blood’s previous disasters. Body. Eye jazz. Moisture, elaborate. Stillness needn’t verbify into death. An altitude of learning’s tomorrow To my daughter, a hand will weave a dictionary of experiential futures the hand awaits (as will the philosophy of her eyes’ walking interest) within the holding paradigm of speech and warmth to engage the presence of attention’s calligraphic components: eyed value, syllables of origami creases collecting function as when the pages surprise in the magnified emblem of the voice’s gregarious, unobstructed precept When writing in the morning the trumpet is an aggregated solace— the piano a functional precision of rhythm’s certain configuration— and my memory is focal-expressive a deline -ated supplication a calling toward clearness’ antithetical obfuscation
