submerge paper                 ebb

heap in silk

                                                                           distant torso
                                                                           the I burrows
               slide your hand
                                                            red     with sea
                                                                                                                        against the tide
                                                            you fall for

Sophie Finlay is a visual artist and poet from Melbourne, Australia. She has been a finalist in the John Leslie Art Prize, the Mt. Buller Art Prize, and winner of She Who Inspires, Walker Street Gallery. Her poetry is published in Meanjin, Verity La, Cordite Poetry Review, and Shaping the Fractured Self (UWAP).
Matthew Hall holds a doctorate from the University of Western Australia. He has published extensively on the work of J.H. Prynne and British late-modern poetry and poetics, including the 2015 monograph Violence in the work of J.H. Prynne. Hall is the author of numerous books of poetry and is the Scholarly Editor of Cordite Poetry Review. He presently lives and teaches in Melbourne, Australia.
