The widest of berths

The widest of berths — had your Actaeon been thus warned. In these woods, if one draws nigh, one is besprent; once besprent, one is cervine, increasingly cervine, cervine even unto a hart, which hart now warns you, my hounds.

Happier pastures

Happier pastures from darker woods; happier pastures, hounds caper, a hart leaps. When did I see a hart leap, and let him be; when did I say, hounds, leave him be? Happier pastures, a hart leaps; caper, hounds, leave him be.

Jeff Harrison has publications from Writers Forum, Persistencia Press, and Furniture Press. He has e-books from BlazeVOX and Argotist Ebooks. His poetry has appeared in An Introduction to the Prose Poem (Firewheel Editions), Noon: An Anthology of Short Poems (Isobar Press), three Meritage Press hay(na)ku anthologies, Sentence: a Journal of Prose Poetics, Moria, and elsewhere.
