Cecelia Chapman
Bleeding Between the Lines: capitalism, news, propaganda
Canson paper, watercolor, ink, collage, personal rubber stamps, 6 x 6 in., 15 x 15 cm.
Asemic writing is used so no one can edit or propagandize.
Cecelia Chapman writes: "Now that 200 people in the world control 50 trillion dollars of capital and 80% of corporate news stations, we read ‘news’ packaged by ‘think tank’ public relations firms aimed at weaponizing empire. News media stations have shrunk from 50 to six neo liberal corporate news outlets. One is owned by Jeff Bezos, the world’s wealthiest man, whose Amazon stock is controlled by the transnational corporate class. Capitalism protects capital, making sure the ’news’ is safe. We are quite literally bleeding out between the lines."
