CATEDRAL

CATHEDRAL

It was to the Indian that from the stones the mission was founded
Consecrated to the Immaculate Conception
Stones turned by the chisel of faith
In what generations of insane ardor have they fought
For the cornerstone that Iberia exhausted
José Custódio de Sá e Faria, José del Pozo y Marquy
And the neoclassical, the Toribio.
Among their stones lie the civic of other times,
Faithful tribunes of God and of the Motherland that inspired her
And even Popes were visited.
Anastacio Saraivia, José Gervásio Urtigas, liberators
In her they feared for the life
While outside, Agustín Barrios struck chords
That only Andrés Segóvia could reflect.
