Quando una Lettera è spedita sa che il viaggio sarà lungo e pericoloso. Non è mai certa di raggiungere il Destinatario. Il suo unico desiderio e dovere è arrivare presto e in ottime condizioni. Ma se quando giunge il destinatario non è presente, viene rispedita al Mittente. Un duro colpo per lei. Dover affrontare il viaggio di ritorno l’angoscia. Molte Buste si perdono, si consumano, nessuno saprà più nulla di loro. Se riescono a raggiungere la meta, in pessime condizioni, l’amato Mittente non le riconosce, le butta nel cestino con la carta straccia. Si dice che qualcuna riesca a fuggire e volare verso il miraggio di un asilo per Buste Smarrite.

Certe volte riescono ad entrare in un libro dove vivranno felici e contente.

[When a Letter is sent she knows that the journey will be long and dangerous. She is never sure to reach the Addressee. Her only wish and duty is to arrive soon and in perfect shape. But if when she arrives the Addressee is not present, she is sent back to the Sender. A real shock for her. Having to face the back journey upsets her. Many Envelopes get lost, wear themselves away, nobody will know anything about them. If they succeed in reaching their destination, in very bad shape, the dear Sender doesn’t recognize them, he throws them away with waste paper. They say that some of them are able to run away and fly towards the mirage of a shelter for Lost Envelopes.

Sometimes they are able to go in a book where they will live happily ever after.]
