TOWNSCAPES

31

Smithereened bricks, rubble, mortar.
Tissue just-so in violets.
Air ducts fuming.
Spiritless inner-city boneyard…
Where Indra was pricked by tabby.

32

Extensive pipes.
Molecules slide from larkspur's nucleus.
Platformed chairs, tilted rows.
Crunched IPA bottle flickers...
Where Brahma kecked out his sunrise.

33

Chunk at decking.
Ligand-joining escalates in shasta daisies.
Unfussy, neatly-put facade.
Charity bucket tinkles...
Where Kali rived out tresses.

34

Travertine wedges overlap.
Topological chemistry of goldsturm.
Profuse entablature accrues its jumble.
Bobbled knapsack swishes...
Where Krishna unclenched hands.

35

Tunnel, slope.
Gnarled load-bearing in monkshood.
Canvas awning on ropes.
Sparkle fumbles Chippy window...
Where Parvati was tranced by moon-grip.

Christopher Barnes' first collection LOVEBITES was published by Chanticleer Press. He read for ProudWORDS lesbian and gay writing festival each year of its existence, co-edited the poetry magazine Interpoetry, and partakes in workshops.
