Mark DeCarteret
Sartre in the key of
seeing is not really
nor does imagining it
bring you one note closer
*
delightful as it might
sound to the mind
or unsightly to the ears
*
easy as it is on
the eyes do not seem
to have another one in them
*
effects resounding more
like the last listen though less so
when rounded off to the nearest
*
genius to tell you
to let go of the controls
autotune into the lost soul of
*
another familiar ringtone
all we’d originally thought sung
w/the originality wrung out of it
*
believing us to ourselves
that little something we
like to call nothingness
