Ray Craig

we will erase in jump

Ray Craig lives in San Bruno, California where he likes to jump “the text with intervals”.

He enjoys collecting anything vintage: space guns that sparkle when you pull the trigger from the 1950s ~ 1960s,

Mao Tse Tung figurines, Japanese karuta cards with box, Gertrude Stein sentences, discarded letters from strangers,

Monica Vitti films where she wanders aimlessly, old books with discolored pages to draw on….

“value in vertical jump” was created on a used sketch pad purchased for $1 at an estate sale in San Bruno. The sketch pad

(11 x 13) appears to date back to the 1960s. 11 pages were used for text and 15 pages of illustrations to support the poem, here

are 5 drawings from the series that captures the mood of jump.
