The White Mirror

searching where words are
                                                      just dust

                     & thought means you only see
yourself looking at yourself

                                 fixed surface again
where there are no echoes

                          & no miracles from
                   turning to another frame

a grain of dust
just slid off

Matt Hetherington is a musician and writer based in Melbourne, Australia. His first poetry collection was Surface (PRECIOUS PRESS, 2004), and the latest is I Think We Have (Small Change Press, 2007). Recent work has appeared in Cordite, Masthead & Thylazine.
