Painters' Exhalations

648
—after Frank Wilson’s Intertwined

Here
nest of context: abode, warmth,
pseudo-sitter
                               when mother’s squawks
wear wind’s thin lace,
elsewhere.
                               Blues,
a
positive blue of crossing now with life’s
subsequent arrival;
blue eggs lay in devotional stillness
within womb of allegorical language:

be still
until ambulation
is the concentrated spectrum
life inherits as copacetic
fathom.

649
—after Donelli DiMaria’s Mirror mirror 4

Lean into yourself.

Self-echo dialectic.

Spiral roles of self’s inner otherness, wearing
what the outer portion of idea sews into
delicate desire.

Move; react.

Knowing self never dissipates fully
finds pleasure in believing
constant leave
of a bird’s narcissistic greeting

never affects the glowing deluge
of the tired watcher’s eyes
alive within the glass creator of
mirror’s functioning
performer.

650
—after Deborah Veldkamp’s Eucalyptus morning light

Nothing appears to collocate with death. White arms
with freckled dimension
live in various
directional
spontaneity. Night is the blanket light-woven, specialized
focus on eerie dissipation
most aware of its callousness
near dawn’s musical
opening.

Morning drifts inattentive, drifts
in whim’s unreliable conscious,
relaying absence is the universal constant
alive when attention is sporadic.

651
after Filomena Booth’s Contemplation

Elbow shapes
dimensional worry
                                                                            curving
back into original content

mind attempts failed hurls of possible
reinjections of historic
contemplation.
                                              Ice symphonies
lyrics cold from tongue
un
                remorseful. Delegate now to another
happenstance-pocket
holding emotions
                                                             not possible,
the mind
                               askew.
