follow me like bright stars

let's build something to abandon when we
get restless and eager. a house or car
won't contain us. we'll spill out like foxes.

it's evening. no moon. we're walking through
the woods without a flashlight--all hungry
and lost but not complaining. we shed clothes

when we find the water. this river comes
from the mountain we can't see. we follow
it until we find a strange sort of light.

Named the 2010 Poet Laureate of the Blogosphere (along with Sina Queyras) by BloggingPoet.com, Brewer also maintains the Poetic Asides blog.
