Morgan Harlow

All the Moments Lived

become an eternity for the 100-year-old woman, the summers
and falls, springs and winters forgotten seasons existing only
for nonlinear elucidation of the love of her life and that now
mysterious pinnacle of memories, no longer clearly glimpsed,
known as The Picnic on the River Bank.

Out of the Ordinary

inanimate objects
take on the properties of the loved one
a curve in the road
power lines reflecting the midday sun
dark puffs of diesel smoke
from a passing truck.

Morgan Harlow has poems, stories, and other writing published or forthcoming in War, Literature & the Arts, the Tusculum Review, Washington Square, Descant, Seneca Review, The Cortland Review, West Wind Review, Spiral Orb and elsewhere.
