1.
pete takes us out to a tourist spot
pete’s leg is falling apart
it’s the glue
yet he drives us all
the way to Kaiteriteri
i point to those coastal mansions
mention rising sea
there’s no climate change says pete
damn lies, a myth, hysteria
our car swerves round a corner
i sway in the back seat
next year pete’s leg will be
reset with a stronger fix
if it starts tingling again in the future
the doctors will say oh it’s the glue
pete believes in doctors
but scientists
that’s another

1 Comments:
terrific interpretations of pete.
I like how lines reshuffle and disappear to make new meanings
