Nativity, #2

Yearn.
Age.
Die.
Heal.

Try
Rage.

Sigh.
Burn.
Yearn.
Prophesy.
Prophesy.

Age.

Heal.

Poem My Husband Left on our Answering Machine
at 3:30 a.m.

Oh, this is me, calling from work, just to say
—and I hate to disturb you at this time—
but you've missed one of the prettiest sights,
a half moon and a star at the very tip.
So if you happen to hear this message or wake up,
look out the back window of your study.
You might see it.

Squeeze yourself for me.
