Ria Masae is a New Zealand-born Samoan. During her time at the University of Auckland she gained a Bachelor of Arts degree, but discovered she much preferred creative writing to academic writing. Hence, she has just completed her second year at MIT (Manukau Institute of Technology) on the way towards a Bachelor of Creative Writing degree.
