Apparitional States

7.
I had all
These questions

Concerning
Who’s Afraid of

Virginia Woolf?

& about the subway car

Missing
Its 4th wheel

& steering
Straight into

An ocean of bicycles
& I couldn’t

Help but wonder
What part

Of my dream
About a ghost

Locomotive
Wasn’t more than

Just a little
Homo erotic

But I was
Reaching ahead

Of what
I was doing

You were almost
My perfect woman

& I was
Almost an insect

& yeah
I wanted to

See yr face
Better

Meaning
Something I

Told you
Was only the ash

& the dirt
Of what I

Believed
& everything

Was dark
& cold

& the world
Underground

Just part of
A design—

This pure
Black

Soulless
Hallucination

Without
Eyes

But there was
Nothing

To see
, you sd—
The subway

Bending into
The darkness!
