Menkah

Quarters of the Sun

Some days, the world takes you by surprise. Barges into your room unannounced. This has not been easy, but it has learnt to tilt the evening just right to leak through the iron soft resistance of the windows and flood you of the habitual pull between black and white into a shameless sanguine or orange or pink, in order to confirm something. I do not know what but one thing is for a brief while certain; this and that and you have maybe not been for nothing

Menkah is a PhD research scholar at JNU, Delhi, whose poetry has appeared in Vayavya and The Mantle.
