Tailored lake

the lake’s beauty
is evident but
nothing to do with me

it’s a collection of fragments
of fabric
belonging to no-one
                                      hanging
                                                   tucked in
                                                                  draped

when I move away
someone will come
wonder why I didn’t take it with me
as though only a fool would leave this
knowing
everything else in life is
                                                                    watered down

Self as the mirror sees it ‘exclude as preference to include’ he said said said so we cut him out as paper-chain profiles hanging from the Christmas tree hanging high enough to see himself in the sand-made mirror that holds him still till he can’t bear reflecting on himself

Keith Nunes (New Zealand) is spending his life writing about everything imaginable with unbounded enthusiasm.
