Kristin Garth

San Francisco

You are his Madeleine in Vertigo,
airport to Ernie’s to show you how much
he listens, potential daddy dom. He knows
you’re grieving some other one. Won’t touch

you until you take ecstasy. He knows
he’s not your fantasy, but you are his,
the tightest slit to desecrate. Eyes closed,
awaiting weight that suffocates. He does

it with his fingers too, asphyxiates
until you don’t remember who’s inside you
just another ghost appropriating
you, another city, a better view

where you’re still lusting for what’s gone and dead
you could drown, tied down to some stranger’s bed.
