In my dream there were alligators and I was trying to cook string beans.

Sometimes laughter can be found in the woods. Sometimes the lake is more than a reflection. Sometimes there are enough words to create an animal or woman. Sometimes something else is still possible.
INFORMATION
He arrives in the city he has never before entered and recognizes the people and is recognized by them. He is part now of a new story that he has always known must begin in just this way. What went before only a rumor that was never proved, fragments of a dream that was his and his alone.
INFORMATION
The significance of flamingos pales in the marble courtyard. One would expect the juxtaposition to be more than an equation, but with some difficulty the wings can still be assigned to the ivory water clock. Have you heard the way the distance was assigned? It makes no difference now that the hour of midnight has passed.

A sister was assigned to each of them, and a dog with wooly hair. The parents were made of cardboard and placed out of sight. The words they spoke were preordained but never heard.

This president can be reconstructed using burlap sacks and bailing wire. His voice is some chickens caught in a cage, his face only what the river left behind. The other presidents are only a bad example, a pattern that will become obvious once the lists are made.

The somnambulist carries a mirror, or a flower that is only a replica. She carries water in her hands, and a color she does not know how to use. The only music she knows is the whispering of the sea. It shapes the dreams she does not realize are dreams.

Flowers that look like pigs. They become what poetry is supposed to be. Was the refrigerator a clue? The lawn only creaks when they walk on it.

“Small feet on cold linoleum” used to describe the deer she remembered from her dream. She removed the rubber gloves forgetting that her prints would be left inside them. The chapter was given a title that made no sense. There was something disturbing at the end she had never anticipated.
