Steve Carll currently lives in Honolulu with his family. Previous publications include Tracheal Centrifuge (Factory School, 2006), Tao Drops, I Change (with Bill Marsh, Subpress, 2004), Trace a Moment's Closure For Clues (Logodaedalus, 1996), and Sincerity Loops (Bathysphere, 1995) and his work has most recently appeared in Blazing Stadium (#18). From 1988-1998, he edited the literary journal Antenym. Videos of him reading his collected poetry 1991-2020 live can be found on YouTube.

Apophenic Epiphanies is the third volume in a series he began writing in June 2020—poetic improvisations written while still half-asleep in the morning. He thinks of these pieces as hypnopompic diary entries the mind makes as it moves between these pandemic-altered basic states of consciousness.
