Jonathan Cant
Ironical AF (Anagram Fun)
Warm wind in the Mojave Desert during an aircon fail
while old Frisco’s Golden Gate Bridge receives a cold- iron facial
breath of fresh sea breeze high above the bay where I falcon air
streams. Below me, a whale swims free—the last finial orca
in the food chain. Thirsty—I’m sky-drinking as if cola rain-
ed down. Then I find rare bank notes at some random L.A. coin fair.
You’re, like, so weird and ironical as fuck, California.

Note: Gram Parsons, considered by many to be a major influence on The Eagles’ early sound, died on September 19, 1973
at the Joshua Tree Inn—a motel in California’s Mojave Desert, from a drug and alcohol overdose.
