John Vieira

a waterfall
is not as good
a mirror of
your face as a
static pond is

perhaps because
the waterfall
acts as mirror
not for man but
the universe

A poet (text-based, visual, digital) and essayist working in Washington, DC and New York City, John Vieira has given readings of his poems at many different venues, from an annual “Lowell Celebrates Kerouac” festival in Lowell, Massachusetts (his home town) to the Grolier Reading Series at Adams House at Harvard University. His visual poems have been exhibited in group shows at museums and galleries internationally, and can be found in many special collections, including The Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry (The University of Iowa Libraries Special Collections, Iowa City).
