A onda, doletjet će jato ptica, stabla će pružiti svoje ruke prema nebu, vjetar će u snu izaći kroz gradska vrata, brodski konopci će popustiti…
    A tebe će probuditi kiša.

RAIN IN DUBROVNIK

Unexpected. And yet not without gifts. While you open an umbrella, you think. What should I do with a moment free of all shadows, tax offices, addresses, trade routes? I need a rain which unobtrusively falls down on the living and the dead. I need the Zelenci clock's strike silent in time. I need a dog whose eyes will be a book read by the the saints. Looking at the bouquet of flowers in a shop window, you say: I will allow this moment to be what is hidden by sight, the flourishing darkness, the light soul, the city in the mirror, the rain that fells down on people, on Sorkočević's house, on Dominican monasteries, on ships … Overall, it starts to become clear to you. The one who watches the rain in Dubrovnik knows that he is in everything and that he is the one light that is recording himself from the beginning. And then, a flock of birds will fly in, the trees will spread their hands toward the sky, the wind will come out through the city gate in a dream, the boat's ropes will loosen…
And you will be awakened by the rain.
